Dee, short for Deirdre, originally from Athenry Co Galway, now residing in Kildare. Having always had an interest in art, was encouraged by her father who enjoys painting watercolour landscapes. From a young age, Dee sketched
and was once featured in the Galway Advertiser with her painting of Santa approaching the Galway docks by boat which was her entry to the Texaco, children’s art competition. Living in the States at age 7 she received a gift of a Mickey Mouse film camera, and spent many hours taking pictures of her dolls and neighbours kids and a love of portraits began.

The following year she used the family polaroid camera and captured as many smiles from her baby brother she could get. Albums are full of this baby growing up from the perspective of a proud big sister. But it wasn’t till
many years later after finishing college where she studied Business and Computing that the love for photography was rekindled. Taking a year out to travel and work abroad she purchased her first Digital SLR camera in Australia. A passion for capturing the world as she sees it was hard to ignore and two years later back in Galway she began shooting portraits for a living. Then on to Dublin to work for a Portrait studio for 3 years which led on to Wedding photography and self-employment. She continues to shoot portraits and enjoys creating beautiful images for her clients and herself. Getting together with a creative team to push the boundaries of her craft and continue to learn. She also enjoys teaching photography to others.
